Delmarie Cobb is one of the best political consultants in Chicago (made internationally famous during the Democrats’ Convention in Denver when Obama supporter Emil Jones, his most likely replacement in the Senate, called Cobb “Uncle Tom” for backing Hillary Clinton).
Here’s her take on Clinton as Secretary of State, in an NPR interview:
A longtime Hillary Clinton supporter from Chicago says she’s disappointed Clinton may leave the U.S. Senate. A source close to Barack Obama’s transition team has told NPR that Clinton has agreed to be nominated for Secretary of State. Delmarie Cobb is a Chicago-based political consultant.
COBB: Personally, I would have preferred for her to stay in the Senate as an independent voice. There are issues, women’s issues, health care issues, energy renewable issues, that she talked about all along the campaign trail, that she could have been a stalwart for in the Senate.
But Cobb says Clinton will make a great Secretary of State. Cobb says Clinton’s relationships with foreign leaders make her primed for the cabinet position. In the past, Cobb accused Democratic Party officials of favortism toward Barack Obama during the presidential primaries. She said the party disrespected Clinton and took women voters for granted.

She is so right on this subject, Hillary should of stayed in the senate, I do not believe Obama will be elected to a second term, where will that leave Hillary then?

Can’t you just see Emil Jones in the Senate of the United States? What a laugh. This low-life will be completely out of place in the Senate, but isn’t that typical of Obama’s associates?
Just what is it that he is trying to do to this country? He is certainly cheapening it with the possible choice of Emil Jones for any position of power in this country’s government. Next we’ll see Wright as Pastor-in-Chief? Ayers as Traitor-in-Chief?
He seeks to appoint people whom most of us wouldn’t allow in our homes or at our tables. America, watch out…this is only the beginning.

I too believe that Hillary hould have stayed in the Senate. I give this pact with the devil less than 2 years.

I like this Cobb woman. Hopefully she’ll get Emil’s job in Chicago & start to “clean them
up”. I also think it would be great if Alice Palmer got it.
