In the article above, Obama’s poised to name Susan Rice his Ambassador to the United Nations, a post Caroline Kennedy was long expected to take, in reward to the Kennedy family for their support of Obama.
Rice was thought to end up at the National Security Agency, so this is an interesting development.
So far, it’s seemed like New York Governor David Paterson was set to fill Hillary Clinton’s Senate seat with Andrew Cuomo, though Robert Kennedy Jr. is another one sometimes mentioned for his father’s seat.
But, if Caroline Kennedy doesn’t get the UN Ambassador post, could she be slated for Clinton’s Senate seat instead? Or, would Caroline be able to take over for her uncle Ted when he’s forced to leave his seat due to health problems, most likely early next year?

How could she be a candidate for both Hillary’s seat and Uncle Ted’s? Can’t she only be a legal resident of one state or the other?

Uncle Ted’s seat is likely to go to Ted’s wife (Vicki) who has already expressed interest in it when Ted Kennedy can no longer serve.

So far, Obama is staying away from bleeding hearts and syrupy asskissers in his appointments. He’s a political animal through and through, never the ideologue that the hopey dopey lemmings cheered for. On Hillary’s Senate seat, maybe Cuomo, won’t be Kennedy, I like Kirsten Gillibrand.
On another note, why are Stephen Colbert and Rachel Maddow speaking so much pig latin lately. Has the material dried up that much. I like them both, but what happens to all the satire with the GOP out of the WH and Congress. Regardless of my politics, gotta say Dennis Miller is sounding funnier than Jon Stewart these days.
Look for Maureen Dowd’s column today in the NYTimes. She’s seeing the writing on the wall, and crying about it.

I am hoping someone like Martha Coakley (AG) will run for Kennedy’s seat – I think she had her eye on Kerry’s if he took a post in obama’s cabinet. If we have to have another Kennedy, I hope it’s Joe Kennedy – he would have been a shoe-in for Gov. a few years back if his brother hadn’t been in a scandal with his underage babysitter that year. He has done great work with Citizens Energy in MA helping low income people get low cost heating oil.

Myself & other NYC area PUMAs have been expressing that Senator Clinton’s seat should be filled with a woman.
NOT Carolyn Kennedy. We like Carolyn Maloney.
She’s paid her dues. Carolyn can have her seat if she has to get something. I still can’t believe it is the Kennedy family that are the ones responsible for inflicting us with this FRAUD…..Ugh………!!!!!!!!!!!
