“Why I’ll Be Voting McCain-Palin”
By Bud White on November 1, 2008
The most eye-opening experience for me during this election has been the realization that the Left can be just as mendacious and bigoted as the Right. Obama’s comments about “bitter” Pennsylvania voters was symptomatic of a bigotry towards low-income whites which is much in vogue with the Left. Randy Rhodes’ comments about Hillary’s voters being older, female, and poor or, what she termed them in her punch-line, “white trash,” is another example of this bigotry.
I came to the Democratic Party because of its commitment to working Americans, civil rights, and an activist government. But I also believe in the value of work, capitalism, and a strong military. I have always distrusted the far-Left and its focus on identity politics and anti-Americanism. I believe the United States is a force for good and I believe in the prudent use of our military power.
I see the Obama campaign as a resurgence of McGovern liberalism, albeit better packaged and mixed with a good dose of Chicago-style corruption. In a brilliant speech,Lynette Long summed up exactly how I feel about Obama:
Obama is a brand just like any other brand. Obama the Brand has a logo, a tag line, and a song. But Obama the man is not the same as Obama the Brand. Obama the Brand talks about new style politics, while Obama the man used Chicago style politics in every election. Obama the brand is for women’s rights while Obama the man pays the women in his office 77 cents on the dollar compared to men … Obama the Brand is a post-racial candidate while Obama the man plays the race card at every turn, listens for 20 years to the racial teachings of Rev.. Wright, and makes contributions exclusively to Trinity United Church of Christ, the NAACP and Care Africa. Obama the man and Obama the brand are not one in the same.
I find it unacceptable that Obama and his supporters have used sexism and race-baiting as a political tactic. I believe that Sarah Palin is more qualified than Obama to be president, and the sexism against her (and Hillary Clinton) has been one of our worst moments as a Party, comparable to Southern Democrats voting against Civil Rights in the 1960s.
I will be voting for McCain because I trust him not to divide Americans along lines of race and sex for his own electoral gain. I will be voting for McCain to send a message to Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid that a rigged nominating process is not acceptable in the Democratic Party. I will be voting for McCain because Obama is not qualified to be president.

I am with you, Bud and am hoping that enough PUMAs will make a difference on Tuesday.
November 1, 2008 at 1:35 pm
jd, my vote I’ll add to yours!
The last sentnce of the commentary says it all, “obama isn’t qualified to be President”, not in “our” America anyway.
United We Stand
Divided We Fall
Go Pumas!
McCain/Palin, a qualified team for America
November 1, 2008 at 1:37 pm
I have been praying… and i do not do that enough normally
I voted absentee and praying for a McCain win
PUMA’s for McCain
Obama has himself to blame for the division in this country now. With him as pres it will get far worse.
November 1, 2008 at 1:37 pm
Obama is the KING of us versus them. Race baiting. Misogyny. Bigotry toward blue collar workers. Old vs young.
I was a life long democrat until this election. I see how the republicans view democrats and we play divisive games EXACTLY as they do. We are just as nasty as they are. I live in San Francisco and the hate and hypocrisy is shameful.
Why don’t you practice what you’re hawking here and rise above the
“we’re good, they’re evil” bullshit you seem to love to wallow in. Both parties are full of flawed human beings. You point of view is adding to the divisiveness.

Hear, hear!
Thanks for pointing out the differences. I do believe that Obama the brand seems like a great package to many uneducated voters (not that they aren’t smart… they just haven’t been shown what’s going on).
Hopefully posts like this will help open the eyes of those who are undecided and start seeing things this way as well.
November 1, 2008 at 1:51 pm
Well, my original comment was here just a minute ago…
Okay, I see how it works…just delete any posts from people who don’t agree with you! Well, at least now I know why you guys actually think you have a chance of winning on Tuesday. You can just “delete” reality and live in your own world! :)
You can delete my post, but I know that means that you read it. And I know that deep down…you know it’s true.
Best of luck!
November 1, 2008 at 1:58 pm
PUMAs are already winning Florida for McCain. I’m sure you can add Ohio and Pennsylvania (my homestate) to that list.
Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid are GONE by November 5. The attempted coup, or Obamafication, of the Democratic Party will be stopped in its tracks and the Party of Roosevelt, Truman, and Clinton (both of them) will be purged of the left-wing radicals.

Are you KIDDING ME??? BUSH IS TO BLAME. Let’s AT LEAST agree on that! Good Lord!

Message from Aalam Al-Jabir:
Praise ALLAH that Brother Barack Hussein Obama has such great associates and friends as Reverend Jeremiah Wright, William Ayres, Tony Rezko, Minister Louis Farrakhan, Rashid Khalidi, Father Michael Pfleger, Raila Odingo, Khalid Al Monsour and Nadhmi Auchi. These fine men show his superb judgment and character in choosing them as friends and associates. I hope that he will offer them roles in an Obama administration. This would be a great achievement for the United States of America and the world.
Praise ALLAH that Brother Barack Hussein Obama is so closely associated with A.C.O.R.N. This fine organization will help tremendously in getting the vote out for our Brother!!

I am a life-long conservative and The 0bamessiah and his ability to corral the dumbed-down sheeple of this country really does scare me. But I just wanted to say that, because of this site, I have a new-found respect for Hillary Clinton. Anybody that has supporters such as the ones here at HillBuzz HAS to be given a second look. The rediculous tactics of The 0bamessiah’s campaign in this election have been VERY eye-opening for me … and it seems for a LOT of others too. You guys are tough-as-nails fighters for a FREE America and what is right! And I, for one, won’t forget your efforts. Keep up the GREAT work to keep this POS out of FREE America’s White House!

Hey Guys just heard that “The Mac” is to be on SNL tonight? Anyone heard – is this true?
November 1, 2008 at 2:26 pm
Yes, Mac will be on SNL tonight.
November 1, 2008 at 2:45 pm
Thanks Dee I’ll be sure and tune in.
Won’t this be interesting?
McCain has great comic timing – should be able to deliver if he has anything to work with. He’ll be the only reason I’d tune in.
I love his humor and hope it comes across!
Laughter is good medicine and hopefully for those ailing “undecided” voters this will heal their woes.
McCain/Palin for a better America!
November 1, 2008 at 2:53 pm
Erin and sarah, Obama is not evil, he and his campaign have been disingenuous and then been arrogant about it, in a way that Hillary and McCain have not been. That’s what most angers PUMAs, turns off Republicans, and will I hope make the difference with Independents on Tuesday.
Hill and McCain may be politians, but they at least strive for integrity. Obama, at this stage in his career, is a product packaged by the media and the liberal establiment. If you’re not your own person, integrity is a reach.
I’ve lived happily in SF and NY most of my adult life, and as you say sarah, the high liberal hypocrisy and posturing can be shameful. You don’t get that as much in the heartland, where I grew up.

HRC LETTER ACCUSING OBAMA OF VOTER SUPPRESSION AND INTIMIDATION!
FOLKS – THIS NEEDS TO GET OUT
Apparently, a January 23rd letter written by Clinton Campaign lawyer Lyn Utrecht has surfaced, and it details voter intimidation and voter suppression in the Nevada caucus.
I was wondering when some of this would come to the surface.
I think this is a story that might have some legs, given all attention that ACORN is drawing these days.

I guess in your world Bush can be blamed for everything including bad weather.
While you’ve been steeping in the kool aid,The left wing loons have slowly replaced democrats with ultra left wing fascists. You better not get out of line with that party because they will sure as hell do anything they can to silence you.

I, too have a new respect for Hillary. Though she was abandoned by her party and thrown under the Obama bus, she left with grace and dignity. Two qualities I have yet to see in whats his name!
Thanks for your efforts and comments on this site. It gives me hope!
KUDOS to Rush for turning a lot of us on to you guys.
November 1, 2008 at 3:05 pm
I like BillyPickle am a lifelong conservative but that means for years I was a Reagan Democrat. I’m not sure how any conservative Democrat could not vote for Reagan if for no other reason than as our penance for that vote we cast for Carter.
Long story short, I know alot of Democrats, been around alot of Democrats and I do not believe the far left crazies represent the majority. I believe there are many America loving, reasonable Democrats like those at Hillbuzz who see, understand and are opposed to Obama. There are just few who are as outspoken and courageous as this remarkable group.
Good luck to all of us.
November 1, 2008 at 3:09 pm
OBAMA A SERIOUSLY FLAWED CANDIDATE
Qualified for what? Why hasn’t someone brought this up?
Obama could not pass the background check to become a member of law enforcement at the local, state or federal level because of his self admitted use of cocaine as a young adult.
Law enforcement agencies consider the use of hard drugs an automatic disqualifier because it not only shows a lack of judgment as an adult but also shows a disregard for the laws the officer will probably have to enforce.
The Constitution separates the federal powers between the congress, courts and the executive branch. Congress makes the laws, the courts interpret the laws and the executive branch enforces the laws.
The Democrats are putting up a candidate for the most powerful law enforcement officer in our country who could not even qualify for a local police force or sheriff’s department. (Obama would fail the background check) He would also probably be denied entry into the military for the same reason. So now we could have a Commander in Chief who could not even be a soldier.
Obama could not be hired for any federal position that required any security check because of his past associations with William Ayers and Bernadette Dorn; both of whom are unrepentant domestic terrorists. Another association is with Rashid Khalidi (An Obama fund raiser) who is blatantly anti-Semitic, calls the establishment of Israel a catastrophe, and worked for the PLO when it was listed as a terrorist organization by the U.S. Government. Khalidi says he supports Palestinian terrorism. (Israel is an ally of the United States)
Some will say this is guilt by association but when people are vetted for positions requiring security clearances, past associations are a very important consideration. Past associations indicate an individual’s ability to use judgment and indicate where their loyalties might be directed. When associations indicate an individual might be sympathetic to others who are opposed to the interests of the United States, background checks would deny the individual security clearance.
So now we have the Democratic Party promoting a candidate for the highest office in the land who is not even qualified to be a law enforcement officer at any level, who could not pass a basic background check for a federal position requiring a security clearance or be eligible to join the military.
I am beginning to think the Democratic Party has moved into the “Twilight Zone” and the mainstream media is hooked to their coat tails. (Especially MSNBC)

The hard working blue collar Democrats are the heart and soul of the party. They are the ones who worked double shifts and overtime to have their children go to college and have a better life than they had. The “new hip” DNC has thrown these folks under the bus in favor of the limousine latte liberals, movie moguls and welfare junkies. Now They are trying to deny union workers their rights to a secret ballot. Even George McGovern has come out against this travesty. McCain/Palin is the only ticket for prosperity for everyone. Bravo to Lynette Long for seeing it as it really is and for taking the rose colored glasses off the “chosen one.”

Party Unity My A$$
BTW, HillBuzz people, you’re beyond awesome. Don’t know what took me so long, but this Dem McCain supporter found you only about a week ago. HillBuzz quickly became my touchstone for this race, and I’ve been telling lots of people about you. OK, now I’m back to phone-banking for McCain/Palin!

Interesting that the author has written an endorsement with no support for his premise–sexism against Palin. He says it exists, but gives no examples. Is the treatment she’s been given by the Obama campaign or the MSM any more critical than that given Dan Quayle?
I’d be interested in specific examples.

Erin, the only way obama is going to win is if he is able to get enough dead people to vote.

November 1, 2008 at 4:26 pm
talk junkie….they are not “just” hillary supporters. They are hillary supporters who are “up to here” with (1) the way Hillary was deprived of the nomination and (2) the way that a dangerous-for-America “Democratic” candidate has been pushed down their throats and seems to be within striking distance of becoming a terrible threat to our nation….
And, as Americans, they are standing up and saying, “WE’RE MAD AS HELL AS WE’RE NOT TAKING IN ANY MORE. ARE YOU WITH US?”
This group is the purest form of American polical action I’ve seen in 50 years. I’m a Conservative Republican. I just made a financial donation to this group. I wish them well! (and fully expect to oppose their CHOSEN candidate in 2012!!).
GO AMERICA!
November 1, 2008 at 4:37 pm
Erin, you know, it’s the same politics that claimed BUSH = NAZI, the same media that spun Bush, the same anti-American undercurrent that Obama rode to power on, that he is basing his Hope and Change mantra, so yeah, he and his backers and supporters are just as responsible for the division in this country as Bush. Bush just gave them the excuse to unleash it. Worked out pretty well for them, too. Until Nov 4th, that is.
November 1, 2008 at 4:40 pm
I heard about this site from Rush this week.
Reading your posts has given me renewed hope and enthusiasm for McCain/Palin. I am a die hard republican but I do have respect for all of you and your patriotism. I live in FL and me and my friends see so much more McCain signs, etc…. Everyone we talk to is for McCain. I just don’t understand what the media is seeing and what we are missing??? My gut and my strong faith have been telling me for about 3 weeks now( since I literally prayed at Mass for a miracle to happen~ the next day Joe the Plumber was born!) that McCain/Palin will win. I think the American people are smarter than all the pundits.
Thanks to all you Hillary supporters for working hard for us!
November 1, 2008 at 4:43 pm
I just wanted to let you folks know that this site has greatly encouraged me. In the past, I was overwhelmingly partisan. Even though I am a registered Independent, I typically voted straight down partisan party lines for the Republican side of the ticket. This site has inspired me to be less partisan and to focus on those areas of politics that we agree on rather than demonizing each other for those portions of our politics where we differ. I thank you from the bottom of my heart. And I sincerely hope this bipartisanship will continue long after Tuesday’s election.
I will proudly be voting for John McCain and Sarah Palin on Tuesday, but your inspiration has made me also start my own blog to keep the dialog going even after this election. For those interested in checking out what you have inspired you can find me here:

Thank you again for all of your efforts in this election cycle.

Rasmussen only have McCain down by 4 in PA now. It was 7 last week; 13 at the beginning of the month.
Come on Keystoners. For the sake of America, fend of this false good!
November 1, 2008 at 7:02 pm
I’m a conservative republican and heard about your site on Rush this week, too. I’ve been reading you guys everyday and love the posts. I actually voted for Hillary in our Indiana primary so I could at least get a chance to vote for the Democrat I would want to be president. I have to admit that Obama is the first nominee that has ever frightened me about what could happen to this country if he were actually elected. Keep praying everyone and thank you guys for all that you do to get the word out.

Bud: Bully for you sir! As a registered and highly active Conservative in Upstate NY, I look forward to working with you to defeat this fraud of a candidate and after the election. Godspeed sir and to all Hillbuzz supporters. Right is right, wrong is wrong, principle over party! PUMA is a beautiful thing. Absolutely!!
November 1, 2008 at 7:20 pm
Thank you PUMAs. I am a common sense Republican who supported Romney in the primaries. I was dead set against McCain, but when I sas what was happening in the primaries, I found myself admiring Hillary more and more. I told myself that I would rather have Hillary than McCain. Of course that changed when he picked Palin.
I remember thinking that I wish Hillary would become more conservative. We need a strong woman like that on our side. Palin is great too –
Obama is exactly what I have been afraid of from the far left for years. Who was it from USSR (Bresnev?) who said “we will defeat you from within!”)? Maybe these Bresnevs and Alinskys would have changed their tactics had they know of the internet.
God save us all – did you see that they are praying for Obama in Kenya?
November 1, 2008 at 7:32 pm
Regarding #13Bill Pickel –
Wow, your note/feelings gave me a stab of emotion. I feel exactly the same way. This site, these PUMA’s, are the people who will once again unite our country! Thank you PUMAs, thank you HillBuzz, and thanks Rush for directing us here!!

Thank you for everything that you’re doing for McCain/Palin!!

#17 Three Wickets — I think Obama is evil. He does have a weird hold on his obamabots, it’s not natural. A found a real scary summary of his personality and perhaps that has influenced me but I “feel” he’s just not Wright.

TO OUR VISITING REPUBLICAN FRIENDS:
The alliance should have been sooner. I guarantee you the Hillary supporters at this and other sites know the Obama campaign’s every trick. We could have helped you guys be better prepared for the fraud, the disinformation, the web scrubbing, etc.
I don’t consider myself a PUMA. I’ve found that most true PUMAS are lifelong Democrats who watched in horror this year as their party LEFT THEM. I was a Reagan Democrat (80 and 84) and I also voted for Bush 41 in 1988. It was Bill Clinton that brought me back to the Democrats in 1992. I was a Hillary Democrat until I changed to unaffiliated this past May.
I really feel that we have a leadership crisis in this country – and that we need a leader who has Political Courage, who will act in the best interests of the people. I feel John McCain and Sarah Palin both have this kind of courage and integrity, and their records show it.
On the other hand, Obama has never done anything except seek the next higher office. Any decision he has ever made has been for political expedience.
In Iowa yesterday or today, Obama said one of those things that makes my skin crawl. He said that after the Iowa caucus, his “faith in the American people was vindicated.” I mean, WTF? I takes Obama winning the Iowa caucus for him to have faith in the American people??? The man’s arrogance knows no bounds.
Well, I too have faith in the American people. On Tuesday, a coalition of Republicans, PUMAS, moderate and conservative Democrats and Independents will go to the polls and end this Obama charade.
November 1, 2008 at 7:49 pm
Bud,
Thanks for the excellent post.
The most recent event with the Sarah Palin effigy being hung as “street art” is yet another example of how misogyny, and specifically, violence against women, is “okay” in Obama’s book.
I was fully expected Obama to make a statement and condemn this “art”, but there were crickets…absolute crickets. He condones such “choices” by his silence. He doesn’t support women, or women’s rights. I am not a second class citizen, and I won’t be pushed to the back of the bus…or “under the bus” by Obama and his minions.
Then, the students who hung an Obama effigy get arrested.
The hypocrisy and double standard is unbelievable.
Apparently, celebrating violence against women is okay. NOT.

OBAMA A SERIOUSLY FLAWED CANDIDATE
With Obama we’ve gone well beyond guilt by association. We’ve reached a point where the appropriate question is: Is there any friend or associate in BHO’s background who is NOT a radical, America-hating whackjob or a criminal?
I think it’s very strange that Obama does not have one friend or associate, who has come forward and said, “Yeah, I know Obama. We served in the state senate together and he’s a stand up guy.”

The old addage is “Divide and conquer.” I have NEVER seen a candidate who tried “Divide and get elected.” Until Nobama that is. He has played race vs race, age vs age, rich vs whatever he defines poor that day, it goes on and on. It seems though that in his haste to leap to the left with the Democrat party he has left the right, center and moderate Dems all standing together wondering, “Just who the hell is this guy?”
November 1, 2008 at 9:31 pm
There isn’t a chance in hell that my State, Vermont, will go red, as they hate capitalism and free markets (they have tried to become a socialist state and still want to secede after having tried and failed) but I drove from Southern Vermont to Burlington today and I saw about twelve McCain signs to two Obama signs. That was a lovely surprise.
Keep up the great work.

PUMA’s,
I am a conservative Republican in the People’s Democratic Republic of Maryland. A friend of mine mentioned this site last week and I have been a enthusiastically logging on daily! I am recently retired from the USN, serving 22 years as a Naval Flight Officer in the Maritime Patrol Community. I spent many months away from my family on the front lines to defeat Communism and Socialism. I’ll be damned if Obarfy the socialist is going to get the keys to the Whitehouse. PUMA’s in the battleground states, you are on the front lines in this struggle to keep this country the greatest in the world. I salute you!!!! God bless you and God bless the USA.

A call to God’s people:
A day of prayer and fasting for the upcoming November 4 elections, and this provides an excellent medium to get the word out quickly to a large number of believers.
America stands at a crossroads, not just politically but also spiritually. The current election cycle is nothing less than a battle for the very soul of our country. The discerning among you already know this to be true. The deepening political polarization we have witnessed in the past few elections is merely a symptom of an ever-intensifying spiritual polarization, as the battle lines between the righteous and the wicked are drawn with increasing clarity. The stakes are enormous, whether politically, economically, morally or in terms of our physical security. We are about to step off in a direction that could very well lead to our destruction as a nation — and so many millions are blind to this reality.
As I observe popular attitudes and watch the public opinion polls , my heart grieves for our nation. We have abandoned the principles upon which our nation was founded, principles which in turn were anchored in the person and principles of God. The wicked grow ever more powerful and influential. Once respectable journalistic organizations have degenerated to little more than propaganda organs for the political left. Godly leaders who can rise up in defense of righteousness and our God-given liberties seem nowhere to be found. As a nation, we have cast God out of our thinking. The murder of the unborn is championed in the streets and in the courts. Homosexual ‘marriage’ is trumpeted as a constitutional right and as the sign of a so-called progressive culture. Sexual immorality, drug abuse, violence, idolatry, pornography, and a host of other sins have overtaken us. As a nation we either justify these things or, at a minimum, turn a blind eye to them. And God’s people have certainly not been immune from these things.
Now we stand ready to reap the fruits of our national godlessness. God sometimes judges sin by giving people over to the very things they desire and allowing the natural consequences to play out. However, as the wicked gain the upper hand in the halls of power, all of us of whatever political leaning will experience the predictable consequences.
So where does that leave us? Current polls indicate that the left is in position to seize decisive control of our entire political system, including all three branches of government. They stand to take the White House , both houses of Congress and, by inevitable extension, the courts as well. If that happens, they will take the country hard to the left in a way from which I do not believe we will ever recover. Socialism, moral libertinism, contempt for the sanctity of life, and increasing efforts to stifle political dissent (and I would add, to silence biblically based ‘ hate speech ‘) are sure to follow in short order. If God severely judged Israel for her wickedness, who are we to expect differently?
‘If the foundations are destroyed, what can the righteous do?’
What can we do to prevent the unmaking of America from happening right before our eyes?
We can call upon the name of the Lord, who is rich in mercy and mighty to deliver His people. We can pray along with the psalmist that the designs of the wicked and the oppressors would be thwarted by the hand of God . We can pray that God would lift the evident blindness that has gripped our nation, and that He would grant widespread repentance. We can pray that only the most godly men and women would be elected to lead this nation, and that they would lead in righteousness. We can pray that such righteousness would again exalt our nation as we return to the Lord in humility and repentance. We can pray that, regardless of what happens on November 4, the people of God will manifest ‘the sweet aroma of the knowledge of Christ’ in ever increasing measure.
To that end, I am asking every believer in Jesus Christ to set aside Monday, November 3 as a day of fasting and prayer. I would urge you to review the prayer of Daniel on behalf of his people in Dan. 9:3-19, and to pray that way for our nation. And finally, I would ask you to distribute this call to prayer as widely as possible so that the greatest number of people would lay hold of the throne of grace all at once. It may be that God will show mercy to America, that He will shed His grace on her once again. Thank you for joining with me in this effort.

What can we do to prevent the unmaking of America from happening right before our eyes?
We can pray that God would lift the evident blindness that has gripped our nation, and that He would grant widespread repentance. We can pray that only the most godly men and women would be elected to lead this nation, and that they would lead in righteousness. Hi All!
Elephant giving a shoutout to all of you from Jersey. I did an informal count of campaign signs today in central Jersey on a drive to see family. Even in this Blue state, there doesn’t seem to be a “tidal wave” of Obama support. There were 21-22 Obama signs to 20 McCain signs.
Sorry if there is any “Eeyore-ishness” in this post. I just wanted to let you know my observations here.

Hi,
First, PUMAs — Thank you soooo much :) It’s good to see America again. I was getting worried, really worried. I mean we may not agree on everything but I sure hope we can agree to be Americans first.
What I am posting here is the transcript of the entire conversation with “Joe the Plumber,” if you are sure you understand Obama’s plan, please skip to the bottom paragraph of their dialogue.
I am posting this everywhere I can and asking democrats and republicans to post it anywhere they can as well. Normally I bold the last paragraph because it seems most people don’t realize just how much Senator Obama will say just to get a vote, and this emphasizes it.
It’s titled “Obama Endorses Selfishness” because that last paragraph of what he says to Joe is exactly the kind of thing he is alleging and criticizing John McCain for — a tax break for the “wealthy, those making over 250,000 a year.” Thank you in advance for reading and posting this everywhere you can, watch the video link, you’ll see it’s accurate.
“The following transcript of what Obama said during the entire interview with Joe Wurzelbacher,
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Ilwk_wmsQk. I wanted to keep the entire train of thought together so I omitted what Joe said, however I referenced it for context in brackets where the context would be lost, so without further delay I give you by transcript, what Senator Barack Obama said to “Joe the Plumber” when he believed there were no open mics:
“If your revenue is above 250, then from 250 down your taxes are going to stay the same. It is true that, say for 250 up, say from 250-300 or so….you’d go from 36 to 39% which is what it was under Bill Clinton.
“So the uh….and the reason we’re doing that is because 95% of small businesses make less than 250, and so what I want to do is give them a tax cut I wanna give all these folks who are bus drivers, teachers, auto workers who make less, I wanna give them a tax cut and so what we are doing is, we are saying that folks who make more than 250, that that marginal amount above 250 that they are going to be taxed at a 39% instead of a 36% percent rate.
“Here’s a way of thinking about it, um….How long you been a plumber?…Okay so over the last 15 years, when you weren’t making 250, you would have been getting a tax cut from me. So you’d actually have more money, which means you would have saved more, which means you would have gotten to the point where you could build your small business quicker than under the current Tax Code.
“So there are two ways of looking at it. I mean, one way of looking at it is, now that you’ve become more successful….through hard work, you don’t want to be taxed as much, which I understand. But another way of looking at it is 95% of folks, who are making less than 250, they may be working hard too, but they’re bein taxed to the higher rate than they would be under mine.
“So, what I’m doin is…put, project yourself back 10 years ago, when you were only makin…whatever, 60 or 70, under my tax plan you’d be keeping more of your paycheck, you’d be having lower taxes, which means, you would have saved and gotten to the point where you are [now] faster.
“Now look, nobody likes high taxes, off course not. So…But what’s happened is, we end up, we cut taxes a lot, for folks like me who make a lot more than 250. We haven’t given a break to folks who make less, and as a consequence the average wage and income for just ordinary folks, the vast majority of Americans, has actually gone down over the last 8 years. So all I want to do is, I want to….I’ve got a net tax cut. The only thing that changes this, I’m going to cut taxes a little bit more for the folks who are most in need, and with the 5% of the folks who’ve been doing very well, even though they’ve been working hard, and I understand and I appreciate that. I just want to make sure that they’re paying a little bit more in order to pay for those other tax cuts.
“Now….I respect the disagreement, I just want you to be clear it’s not that I want to punish your success, I just want to make sure that everybody, who is behind you, that they’ve got a chance at success too.
“I’d be open to it [a flat tax] except for, here’s the problem with the flat tax, the uh…is that actually if you put a flat tax together, you probably, in order for it to work and replace all the revenue that we’ve got, you’d probably end up having to make it like about a 40% sales tax. I mean that’s the value added, making it up [making up for the lost revenue]. Now some people say 23 or 25 but in truth, when you add up all the revenue that would need to be raised, you’d have to slap on a whole bunch of sales taxes on it.
“So….I do believe that, for folks like me, who are, you know, have worked hard, but frankly also been lucky, I don’t mind paying just a little bit more than the waitress who I just met over there, who’s things were slow and, she can barely make the rent, you know, because.
“My attitude is if the economy’s good for the folks from the bottom up, it’s going to be good for everybody. If you’ve got a plumbing business, you’re going to be better off if you’ve got a whole bunch of customers who can afford to hire you, and right now everybody’s so that business is bad for everybody and I think, when you spread the wealth around it’s good for everybody. But I, listen I respect what you do and I respect your question and even if I don’t get your vote, I’m still going to be working hard on your behalf cause I want to make sure…Small businesses are what creates jobs in this country and I want to encourage it.
“One other thing I didn’t mention, for small business people, I’m going to eliminate the capital gains taxes. So what it means is if your business succeeds, and let’s say you take it from a $250,000 business to a $500,000 business, that capital gains you get, we’re not going to tax you on it, because I want you to grow more. So you’re actually gonna get some…you may end up, I’d have to look at your particular business, but you might end up paying lower taxes under my plan and my approach than under John McCain’s plan. I can’t guarantee that because I’d have to take a look a it. Alright? Thanks for your…thanks for the question though, I appreciate it.”
Do the math…
Is he going to tax the rich or is he going to give the rich a break?
What’s the truth?”

Something I wish more people knew: Obama has said that when his friends asked him, “What is a “community organizer?” — he didn’t know. Curious, I went to wikipedia and searched “community organizer”. Check it out for yourself — along with “Saul Alinsky” (the “Father of Community Organizers”. VERY interesting! Alinsky had died a few years before Obama was hired by his “followers” and son, yet I fail to see how his ideology isn’t embedded into Obama. (Note, these pages have changed a bit since last spring or summer.)

I love this site and have been visiting since last thursday. What a breath of fresh air. I proudly voted for John McCain and Sarah Palin today. She has been a wonderful Governor for our great state and has stood up to massive scrutiny by the MSM and still is able to smile. She has done a bang up job. I would have considered Hillary although I am a conservative, and feel she got shafted by Obama. Alaska is a definate Red state and the polling office here on the North Slope was busy and all McCain. Thanks for all you do and I will donate today. I donated to McCain and Pennsylvania RNC yesterday. Go get em! I work in the oilfield and work with folks from all over the U.S. The polls from what I have gathered have to be skewed. We can keep Obama out.

Obama beat Mccain 52-42 in Saturday’s Zogby sample.
AND McCain beat Obama 48-47 the day before. The truth is, as it has been through this process, that Obama under-performs on election day. The polls can’t catch this: think Supers Tuesday, New Hampshire, Texas, Ohio, etc.

Astroturfing has likely bloated Obama’s numbers by a minimum of 10%, perhaps 15%. Chop that off those stupid poll numbers and you will start to get a feel of Crock’s real support.

Former NM Governor Bill Richardson was stumping for the messiah here in Denver on Thursday. He said all families earning less than $120,000 can expect a tax cut. Biden said $150,000, Barack said $200,000 on his half hour comedy special and last week it was $250,000. By Election Day there will be no tax cut and he will want us to work in a gulag.

I have never understood how Democrats say they have supported advancing civil rights. Throughout the history of the United States, the Republican party has led all advances in civil rights. Southern democrats (Al Gore Sr. and others) tried to block these advances every single turn. But that is an argument for another time.
I welcome all PUMA’s and Hillary supporters to the cause of defeating Obama and his disciples. McCain/Palin can use all the help they can get in this election. I have a gut feeling that come Wed. morning we will be victorious and Obama supporters will be ravenous.
Obama, Pelosi and Reid would be the absolute worst thing for this country at this time (any time for that matter). Spreading the wealth and taxing the top 25% in this country will lead to bankrupcy, just ask California and New York about how well that is working.
Socialism violates every principle this country was founded on and must be stopped. There have been small steps taken toward this over the past several decades (see Earned Income tax credit). This must come to an end or civil unrest will be the result. Assosciations and alliances mean everything in evaluating character, The MSM has failed in doing their job (primary responsiblity) in reporting Obama’s background and investigating his past. My hope is that as a result of this election, the MSM will be exposed as the biggest cheerleaders for the Obama campaign and people vote with their remote controls (turn them off and tell their sponsors why).
Again, I give my sincerest thanks to all who previously supported HRC and have jumped the Democratic ship that was hijacked by the extreme left (socialist) Obama faction.

Wonderful essay by Thomas Sowell 10/31/08
Ego and Mouth
After the big gamble on subprime mortgages that led to the current financial crisis, is there going to be an even bigger gamble, by putting the fate of a nation in the hands of a man whose only qualifications are ego and mouth?
Barack Obama has the kind of cocksure confidence that can only be achieved by not achieving anything else.
Anyone who has actually had to take responsibility for consequences by running any kind of enterprise– whether economic or academic, or even just managing a sports team– is likely at some point to be chastened by either the setbacks brought on by his own mistakes or by seeing his successes followed by negative consequences that he never anticipated.
The kind of self-righteous self-confidence that has become Obama’s trademark is usually found in sophomores in Ivy League colleges– very bright and articulate students, utterly untempered by experience in real world.
The signs of Barack Obama’s self-centered immaturity are painfully obvious, though ignored by true believers who have poured their hopes into him, and by the media who just want the symbolism and the ideology that Obama represents.
The triumphal tour of world capitals and photo-op meetings with world leaders by someone who, after all, was still merely a candidate, is just one sign of this self-centered immaturity.
“This is our time!” he proclaimed. And “I will change the world.” But ultimately this election is not about him, but about the fate of this nation, at a time of both domestic and international peril, with a major financial crisis still unresolved and a nuclear Iran looming on the horizon.
For someone who has actually accomplished nothing to blithely talk about taking away what has been earned by those who have accomplished something, and give it to whomever he chooses in the name of “spreading the wealth,” is the kind of casual arrogance that has led to many economic catastrophes in many countries.
The equally casual ease with which Barack Obama has talked about appointing judges on the basis of their empathies with various segments of the population makes a mockery of the very concept of law.
After this man has wrecked the economy and destroyed constitutional law with his judicial appointments, what can he do for an encore? He can cripple the military and gamble America’s future on his ability to sit down with enemy nations and talk them out of causing trouble.
Senator Obama’s running mate, Senator Joe Biden, has for years shown the same easy-way-out mindset. Senator Biden has for decades opposed strengthening our military forces. In 1991, Biden urged relying on sanctions to get Saddam Hussein’s troops out of Kuwait, instead of military force, despite the demonstrated futility of sanctions as a means of undoing an invasion.
People who think Governor Sarah Palin didn’t handle some “gotcha” questions well in a couple of interviews show no interest in how she compares to the Democrats’ Vice Presidential candidate, Senator Biden.
Joe Biden is much more of the kind of politician the mainstream media like. Not only is he a liberal’s liberal, he answers questions far more glibly than Governor Palin– grossly inaccurately in many cases, but glibly.
Moreover, this is a long-standing pattern with Biden. When he was running for the Democratic Party’s presidential nomination back in 1987, someone in the audience asked him what law school he attended and how well he did.
Flashing his special phony smile, Biden said, “I think I have a much higher IQ than you do.” He added, “I went to law school on a full academic scholarship” and “ended up in the top half” of the class.
But Biden did not have a full academic scholarship. Newsweek reported: “He went on a half scholarship based on need. He didn’t finish in the ‘top half’ of his class. He was 76th out of 85.”
Add to Obama and Biden House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, and you have all the ingredients for a historic meltdown. Let us not forget that the Roman Empire did decline and fall, blighting the lives of millions for centuries.
