NOTE: The below comes from one of the smartest two blogs out there for insight on polls (the other being Wizbang). Things have been unraveling for Obama since early voting began — just like in the primaries, Obama’s alleged advantage amongst his “youth army”, blacks, and yuppies is not turning up in the early vote “tidal wave” he was supposed to have. Obama spent TENS OF MILLIONS of dollars trying to drive early votes to him, but it’s not happening. Practically every Democrat we know has early voted — and all of them have voted for John McCain and Sarah Palin. One of our friends today did just that, a hip gay guy in Chicago who adores Hillary Clinton and never thought he’d vote Republican, but he just couldn’t vote for Obama — not after what Obama’s followers personally did to all of us on Team Hillary throughout the primaries. For examples of how nasty these people are, just look at the comments they still leave on this site. In a week, when Obama loses, all of you Obama followers who were so nasty to Hillary Clinton and her supporters have only yourselves to blame. Your nastiness and hatred towards us drove millions of votes to John McCain.
This analysis indicates Democrats voting early in Florida are voting for John McCain in huge numbers — we think this is a reaction not only to the treatment received from Obama followers, but also Obama’s refusal to count Florida’s primary votes during the contested nomination process (remember, in the end, after the party crowned him as the new standard bearer, Obama ultimately relented and allowed all Florida votes to be counted…when it would do Clinton no good. And don’t think Floridians don’t remember how Obama treated them).
Looks like payback for Obama’s treatment of Florida and his followers’ treatment of Clinton supporters is going to be a disaster for the Democrats next week:
Huge Democrat Turn Out In Florida Turns Into Huge McCain-Palin Gains
If early voting in Florida is any indication what will happen across this country come next Tuesday (and there is little reason to assume it will be some crazy outlier well outside the norm) then Obama and the Dems are going to be getting a lesson from the American voters. They are the lead incumbent party in a country where 90% think the country is off track. And how America feels about them and Obama is showing in some early polling of early voters
:
Democrats are beaming that their party is outperforming the Republicans in early voting, releasing numbers Wednesday that show registrants of their party ahead 54 percent to 30 percent among the 1.4 million voters who have gone to the polls early.
“We’re thrilled at the record turnout so far,” said Democratic Party of Florida spokesman Eric Jotkoff. “It’s a clear indication that Democrats want to elect Barack Obama and Democrats up and down the ballot so that we can start creating good jobs, rebuilding our economy and getting our nation back on track.”
But party breakdowns for turnout aren’t the same as final tallies, and at least one poll offered a different view for the campaign of Republican John McCain.
A Los Angeles Times/Bloomberg poll gave McCain a 49-45 lead over Democrat Barack Obama among Floridians who have already voted.
And Republicans continued to show a traditional strength, leading 50 percent to the Democrats’ 30 percent in the 1.2 million absentee ballots already returned.
Democrats have an almost 2 to 1 advantage in numbers, yet McCain leads in the vote totals. RCP has Obama up 3.5% in Florida
– totally opposite this massive wave of early voting. According to a GMU site monitoring early polling
Florida is already seeing almost 34% of the total 2004 vote for Florida – stunning. And the advantage for Dems on this site is 45.4% to 39% (including absentee). So with a really high 6.4% advantage in turnout Obama is losing by 4%. That is some massive defection numbers away from Obama. And it would seem a large turnout is not a bad thing at all for McCain-Palin, since it will swamp the Obama strengths in certain demographics.
If this is an indication of things to come, the liberals are in for a rough week. H/T Reader Archtop and Wizbang

Go McCain/Palin! We have to prevail. We have to work harder than ever to achieve the greater good. Not just for us, but for America. Make those phone calls, put out the signs, talk to your undecided friends and family, and instead of asking why B. Hussein O., ask why not McCain/Palin. Educate yourself to debate your position. I’ll guarantee you, their talking points will be just that, TALK. McCain/Palin is ACTION! Now, get out there and ACT on their/our behalf to get them to DC!
October 30, 2008 at 12:45 am
Yes, but …
Note this paragraph from the news story Strata relied on. He didn’t quote this:
“Conducted Oct. 25-27, the Los Angeles Times poll gave Obama a 50-47 lead overall in Florida. Only a tiny fraction of the Florida respondents reported voting early, leaving McCain’s lead subject to a wide margin of error. A Quinnipiac University poll, released Wednesday, showed early voters favoring Obama 58-34, another small sample with a potentially wide margin of error.”
So it’s unclear whether McCain really does have a lead in the early voting. The polls really aren’t accurate enough to tell us.

All I can say I wow. This is my first time to the site, and I’m just thrilled to see the TRUE American unity coming through big time here. I’m a lifelong repub, although very disappointed with my party. But, I couldn’t be happier with a true centrist and honest-to-goodness real American McCain/Palin. I was so incredibly won over by Hillary in the primaries and would have voted for her as president, and was APPALLED at the HORRENDOUS FRAUD AND MSM JOKE that was committed against her.
Obama is the most dangerous candidate in the history of the United States, one who would literally destroy the US for a generation, or worse. Please, for God’s sakes, continue this INCREDIBLE fight! God bless.

I just saw on fox news that the obama campaign is practically begging people to come to Florida to volunteer, for GOTV. They sent out a mass e-mail to supporters. If he were doing so well in early voting, then why are they begging people from out of state to come help. Not only that, but the e-mail apparantly says not to come and play in the sun, but to come and WORK! Please, they’re getting desperate in Florida. It appears as though there’s trouble in paradise. I have faith in their desperation

October 29, 2008 Contact: Press Office
Statement on Former ACORN Affliliate Employee’s Testimony in Court Linking Obama Campaign Directly to ACORN Activity
ARLINGTON, VA — Today, McCain-Palin 2008 campaign manager Rick Davis released the following statement in response to the testimony given by a former employee of an ACORN affiliate in a Pennsylvania court of law:
“Today’s testimony by a former employee of an ACORN affiliate proves Barack Obama is guilty of lying to the American people about his relationship with ACORN. At the last presidential debate, in front of sixty million people, Barack Obama said his campaign was not involved’ with ACORN. We now know that Barack Obama’s campaign was working hand-in-glove with an organization reportedly under investigation by the F.B.I. and in more than a dozen states. In addition to funneling $832,000 to ACORN for get-out-the-vote efforts, the Obama campaign and ACORN have been sharing donor lists, encouraging maxed-out Obama donors to contribute to this unethical organization.”

I became a PUMA on May 31st, after DNC RBC ripped the nomination away from my candidate and handed it to a socialist who is both unqualified and unworthy of the presidency.
Tuesday afternoon I stood in line for 90 minutes in Boca Raton to cast my vote for McCain/Palin. I guess that makes me one of those early-voting Democrats causing panic in the Obama campaign.
October 30, 2008 at 3:36 am
Thank you for what you are doing…again:) Cheering you on from distant West Central Minnesota. I’m a lifelong Republican who will always remember all of you as people who stood up for country when the chips were down. I acknowledge you don’t (probably!) intend to re-register Republican, but look forward to a good Republican/Democrat debate again next time around.
Thank you so much for doing what you are doing, to insure that America has many more “next times around”. If our Constitution is not retained as THE primary point of law and identity, we all go down.
I saw a good (and lengthy) DVD on the development and demise of the Greek civilization earlier this week and was intrigued with the brevity (200 years) of that fine thing! Wow. We’ve been at this over 200 years now, and trusting that McPalin wins, we will look back on this election as a VERY close call.
Suggestion: Can we make the Constitution, the Declaration of Independence, the Bill of Rights and the Federalist Papers REQUIRED STUDY FOR ALL FOUR YEARS OF HIGH SCHOOL?
October 30, 2008 at 3:39 am
Thanks fellow Hillary supporters! We are working tirelessly to make sure Obama is never elected. I hope the results in Florida is being replicated in all the states.
October 30, 2008 at 3:52 am
Obama will probably bus some people in from Georgia and have them register using park benches as their home address. Cheating is hope & change? The same kind of hope & change that Fidel and Hugo and Mugabe brought their people.
Keep the Change, Obama.
October 30, 2008 at 4:00 am
I’m like Watch Dog– a Repub who was going to vote Hillary this year for a number of reasons. If the Hillarites stop Obama, that is yet one more reason to work on Hillary’s campaign in 2012. Actually, that reason alone would be enough. Sheer gratitude. This blog has been quite an eye-opener. I didn’t realize we had so much common ground.

According to the polls, Obama has a wide lead over McCain in Virginia. The NAACP has filed suit demanding that more voting machines be placed in African American precincts and the polls be open until 9 pm. Te illustrious mayor of Richmond, Doug Wilder is asking Gov. Kaine to keep polls open until 10 in some cases! Are they afraid they won’t be able to get Obama’s voters to come out to the polls, so they want more time to put walking around money on the street and flush them to the polls?
October 30, 2008 at 5:35 am
How do they know the actual count of votes at this point? I live in Fl and have already voted. They have expanded the hours because of very heavy traffic. Every time I drive by the Library (early voting place), there is a line out the door. I waited about a half hour to vote, but have read in the paper that people in adjoining county were waiting 2 hours. My husband went in the first morning they expanded the hours and walked right in to the polling booth. We both voted McCain/Palin. What is most helpful for GOTV effort. I want to help on Election Day.

Way to go Obamacrats, you disenfranchised your own party voters.
October 30, 2008 at 6:01 am
As we head into election day I think we have to be realistic.
The reality is that Obama has a slight lead over McCain in Florida- Obama’s lies about McCain cutting social security scared a lot of seniors.
The reality is that Obama is now leading Colorado by 8 points and he will win that state. Why do you think John & Sarah aren’t going there anymore?
The reality is that Obama is also leading by a razor thin margin in Indiana and holds a 6 point lead in VA.
Without these states even if he wins PA and NH while it would be a great moral victory he still loses.
I still think we should work as hard as we can, but we need to be realistic.
October 30, 2008 at 6:12 am
Polls this cycle are only useful in their directional movements, not in their absolute numbers which are as corrupted as the MSM. Could we have imagined 18 months ago that 90% of the MSM would take an overt and aggressive role in annointing one candidate over all others for the presidency. Never in the history of this nation have we come close. So why think polls are immune. In fact, most are either run by or affiliated with people from academia, who btw originally cultured the Obot virus. No, this is the election where vision becomes a massive headache for the cocky left liberal establishment as it gets really smacked upside the head. That would be on Tuesday when real people vote.
October 30, 2008 at 6:50 am
I don’t get it; if the Clintons are now in Obama’s corner–Bill was giving Obama lots of love in Florida yesterday–how does the PUMA movement have any legs on election day?
I thought the PUMAs were motivated because Obama screwed over HRC in the primaries. But if she doesn’t hold a grudge, and Bill doesn’t hold a grudge, then the reason for being a PUMA doesn’t seem to exist.
Don’t label me a troll or astroturfer, I’m a Republican and just trying to see whether the admittedly terrific rah-rah on this site and elsewhere (e.g., HRC Forum) is really just a handful of folks, and not representative of meaningful numbers on E-day.
Obama is a thug, a dangerous radical, and a worthless phony, I want to see him defeated. But I’m having a hard time seeing PUMAs being a meaningful contribution to his demise in terms of numbers. In spirit, yes, but numbers, just a few folks?? Won’t most disaffected PUMAs simply follow the Clinton’s lead and vote for Obama?
Of course, if one of the Clintons came out against Obama’s thuggery, that would be different, but that doesn’t seem to have happened.
October 30, 2008 at 7:04 am
Good! Florida should end up in the Red (so to speak) You may also be able to add, of all places, Massachusetts to your column. In an analysis of the most recent poll data, 400 registered voters, Obama is shown to lead McCain by 19 points, however, in the first phase, of the poll, he leads by 16 points, 18 percent of the voters on 10/22/08 were either undecided or refused to answer, when the leaners were added, Obama gained an additional three. That said, it’s a dead heat when one factors in the undecideds, a win if any of those “leaners” change their mind and vote McCain – We all know there is motivation (See John Kerry) – who lost 36% of the Democrat vote in the primary – (not for nothing, ACORN offices in Massachusetts were recently “robbed” of computers). This will be one worth watching – (Along with the other states NV, CO, VA, etc. where this particular MA based Pollster is being used to predict results. I could most certainly have it wrong, but then again – stats are there (those that aren’t included in articles or elsewhere for the general public, along with public opinion – full analysis at http://www.degreesofmoderation.blogspot.com

October 30, 2008 at 7:27 am
Of course Republicans pretend that the PUMA movement is real when in reality it fizzled out as quick as it started. Republicans try to make it look like it is real in a futile attempt at recruiting real Democrats to it. I don’t know any real PUMAs do you?
As of last night the Democrats have a 23.6% advantage in early voting in Florida. Then consider that according to Gallup, Obama is hauling in the same percentage of Democrats as McCain is Republicans. Read em and weep.
Hope trumps fear this time.

i’m a McCain supporter here in Chicago, and I still get e-mails and texts from the Obama campaign. And they’re begging people to come out to Iowa. I’m wondering if Iowa is actually more competitive than people are making it out to be. Gore and Bush barely won those states in 2000 and 2004, so maybe McCain’s internals are showing a tight race.
What’s the situation like in Virginia? Is it really that bad? Everyone is saying that Obama has it locked down because of the liberal voters in northern Virginia.

How reliable are these polls? After all if these democrats never told pollseters of their intention to vote for McCain why would they do so on exit polls?
Exit polls in 2004 were notoriously unrealible because of where they were conducted and by whom.

I saw that Obama is bringing out the big gun, Bill Clinton, to Florida. That will certainly surge Obama and may be McCain’s demise in FL. Too bad, the Clintons were thrown under the bus, stepped on and run over by Obama, yet he has the “audacity” to demand their help when he thinks it is in his best interest. Then when finished with them, they will be thrown in the trash heap with all the other Obama sacrifices to the CHOSEN ONE.

The Clintons campaigned for Gore and Kerry also in Florida. Lot of good that did.
This candidate Obama is the absolute worst of the three. He has more money, and so he has been marketed like crazy, but the product(him) is shabby and not worth a vote.
October 30, 2008 at 9:33 am
Wow rebecca, you sound so defeated. Maybe I should slink off and cry out of self pity. Naaa. Scott Rasmussen was just on Fox and basically said the change in his poll was “not much” of a deal. And the Zogby poll is renown for it’s volatility.
October 30, 2008 at 9:38 am
I’m reminded of what Hillbuzz has said about Obama consistently over-polling in the primaries. As well, I’m reminded of the article about the Obama insider who said a lead of 0-5% in the polls translates into his defeat, 6-10% indicates a toss-up, and that he needs to poll over 10% to truly feel assured of victory.
Yesterday’s IBD/TIPP poll was only a 3% Obama lead with over 9% undecided. It’s hard for me to believe that over 9% of likely voters are undecided at this point.
October 30, 2008 at 9:40 am
I’m a PUMA and proud of it… registered Dem voting Republican in Florida for the cause of freedom and putting my Country First. Obama’s socialist policies won’t hold water in Florida this election. It pisses people off to see Obama wasting millions of dollars on TV time when all we want to do is go back to work to make a small fraction of the cost of his infomercial. Shame on Obama…

This is for Keith who says he doesn’t know any PUMAS.
Hi Keith. I’m JiffyJML. Nice to meet you.
This is the fifth presidential election in which I’ve been eligible to vote; my history is Clinton, Clinton, Gore, Kerry. I voted for Senator Clinton in the Ohio Primary.
And I’ll be voting for McCain-Palin on Tuesday.

Real Puma here. Although the original PUMAs were Hillary Clinton supporters, the message of the PUMAs is “Principles before party”. We understand that Hillary and Bill Clinton are Democrats and will support and vote for anyone with a (D) after his or her name, including Obama. However, we own our votes and have no intention of blindly giving them to anyone who is running as a Democrat. How we exercise our right to vote differs from one PUMA to another. Some will leave the top of the ticket blank, some will vote third party, some will do a write-in, and some will vote for McCain/Palin. No PUMA will vote for Obama/Biden. We are out here. We are many. We are not going away. We will still be PUMAs on Nov 5th no matter how the election turns out. Make fun of us, belittle us all you want. You can’t make us go away.

October 30, 2008 at 10:30 am
To be honest, I do feel defeated. I just can’t believe each and every single poll is being manipulated to show McCain losing.
Now is it possible that ALL (every single one) polls are wrong? Yes, it’s possible, but extremely unlikely. You would think there would be some stray pollster that would show McCain tied or ahead, either because they knew something the others didn’t, or just because they were screwed up…lol.
Let’s face facts. In 2000, most polls had Bush ahead, but Gore did lead in a few. BTW, Zogby was the only one that nailed the last minute surge for Gore due to the Bush DUI story. And in 2004, Bush lead most polls, but Kerry was ahead in some even up to election day.
So the fact that McCain is losing in EVERY SINGLE POLL is not good at all, imo. But I pray to God I’m wrong.

I had dinner with my sister last night and she told me that our mutual friend ” A. P.”, a single mother of three teenagers, had early voted on Tuesady. She said she had voted Democrat her entire life but simply could not vote for Obama because she didn’t trust him. (from Peoria, IL.)

My husband and I are two more early voting dems who probably were coun ted as supporters of Obama but…………weren’t. ANYONE who watched the primaries and caucuses and can still vote for this dirty politician-those are people whoi are either willfully blind or looking for a handout. Everytime I hear Obama’s “tax cut for 95% of people”, I am reminded of the bibical verse-IF YOU GIVE A HUNGRY MAN A FISH-HE EATS FOR A DAY..IF YOU TEACH A HUNGRY MAN TO FISH-HE EATS FOR A LIFETIME.” Here we are once again throwing out the same old biscuit of a welfare state. One of the biggest reasons I’m so disenchanted with my own party is the whole redistribution of wealth thing. WHEN are we going to learn. There are NO,ZERO,ZILCH examples of socialism working anywhere it’s been tried, anywhere in the world,EVER. Can we PLEASE bury this backwards hatchet of an idea once and for all and this time NOT LEAVE THE HANDLE STICKING OUT!!!! Where is the party I remember of people like Tip O’neill and Zell Miller? Nancy Pelosi,Barney Frank and Harry Reid DISGUST me-one wonders if they are still partaking of the acid trips of their ill gotten youth? We need new democratic blood in office with a much more palatable centrist leaning. I cannot see myself voting for many more democrats(excepting Hillary ,OF COURSE),Unless we can purge the cancer from our elected officials. Look, I’m no republican but abortion and getting highly liberal judges put in the supreme court are not my top priorities at this point. I also worry about security,LOWER taxes (please), and getting rid of our dependence on foreign oil. How can our party SERIOUSLY not see a problem with paying Iran and Saudia Arabia for oil we can easily produce ourselves? It’s like American farmers growing our crops here, letting them rot in the fields and then IMPORTING them at a ridiculously inflated cost from somewhere like CUBA! WHAT is the reasoning behind this? Are we worried about our OWN environment here in the US but don’t care if we destroy other country’s in the process? That’s such hypocrisy! I feel like with the current attitude of the democratic party, if I don’t toe the line on ALL of the issues, then they don’t want me! Well, I’m already gone Howard Dean! and you can add my husband and two children to that total and probably multiply it by THOUSANDS to get your amount of upset dems who will exercise their power to vote and take your worthless candidate down on election day.

First post here, but long-time lurker.
I am a die-hard Republican . . . but have come to hold a grudging respect for Hillary. She did not falter or quit in the face of the media & DNC officials who were hollering at her that the race was OVER. She hung in there – and so did her supporters. The only reason she lost was because of the DNC & super-delegates, which you can thank Bob Beckel for, by the way.
Kudos to all you PUMAs for what you have done & what you continue to do!
Thank God for your blogs & the examples you have set. You have been a source of optimism in the face of these idiotic trolls, some of whom post here, sadly.
I have lived in Florida 40 years & know the state well. Bush won Florida by 400,000 votes in 2004 against a Northeastern liberal. Florida has not gone Dem except when moderate Southern governors have been the Dem nominee. Florida is certainly NOT going to give its 27 electoral votes to a Chicago thug politician. Guaranteed.
So all of you trolls out there – a hearty “go to h***” because Florida ain’t going Obama.
By the way, my extended family has already had a run-in with the Obama thugs. My brother-in-law’s cousin is Mike Scott, the Florida sheriff who dared to use The One’s middle name at Sarah’s rally in Fort Myers earlier this month. Mike, his wife, & two daughters have been through the mill the last fews weeks.
And that is only a small taste of what we can expect if The One wins.
So my distaste for the Obama politics machine is personal. I’ve taken my revenge by volunteering for McCain/Palin whenever I can.
Again, I wanted to thank you PUMAs for everything you do. You are true, patriotic Americans!

Trolls go waste your time elsewhere. You can’t hurt us.

Hi, Hill Buzz folks. I’m from a “right wing” forum for a particular show. We are currently having an infestation of Obamabots, so I figured i’d share with you, a couple of their thoughts on this revelation of you all taking your vote back.
Here’s the first gem:
“Sticking a sock in the PUMAs and sending them packing is just another one of the wonderful end-stories of this election.”
and here is another prime cut of how much Hillary voters are still being hated for daring to want their vote:
“…he needed idiots out to make a point to win in a state he should have easily carried.”
Not trying to start anything, but this stuff is out there. Thank you, good people. I know we won’t always agree on issues, but your vote counts no matter who is on the ticket. The DNC had no right to steal it from Florida and Michigan.
Well ahead of the sexism and extreme bias, is the travesty of what the DNC did to Florida and Michigan. Every red blooded American should be appalled at this.
October 30, 2008 at 10:57 am
WOW! THank You Puma!!!
October 30, 2008 at 10:58 am
rebecca, are you getting paid a dollar a post or a cigarette a post? hahaha, if only your “fear tactics” worked. Zogby was only off by an average of 15 or so points in every single primary state, gallup was only off by an average of 7 points in the primaries, rasmussen was only off by an average of 7 points in the primaries…see a pattern here? When you use unrealistic polling methodology you get unrealistic results. IBD/tipp was the ONLY polling company to get within less than half of a percentage point last time and that is only because they don’t artificially weight their polls. Battleground also and both only have Obama up by three which by the way, is in the margin of error.
October 30, 2008 at 11:01 am
As a registered Republican, a practical political moderate leaning slightly right, and someone who will cross party lines for the right candidate herself, the PUMA phenomena knocks my socks off.
If you had asked me two years ago, would I vote for Hillary, it would have been a resoudning NO. However, as a woman, I saw what happened in the primaries and it was a stunning case of nastiness that even Rove wouldn’t have stooped to. I remember thinking that the democratic party was hurting itself with all of that but no one was really discussing it in the MSM.
After the primaries, I asked myself, ‘if the choice was ONLY Obama versus Clinton, who would I vote for?” The surprising answer was “Hillary”.
Why? Because bottomline, she’s known. I may not like all of her policies, but she’s not going to pull some whacky ideology out of her pocket at the 11th hour. She would be able to handle foreign policy. The odds of her contaminating our economic situation is low. She’s been around long enough, knows politics and isn’t dangerous, has a track record. With Hill, you know what you’re going to get. I may disagree with her about some things but I think that her heart is in the right place.
I actually grew some real respect for the woman last spring after what she went through. And after viewing that video about potential voter fraud during the caucus in Texas, I have many questions about what went down there, and in other states with similar procedures.
McCain isn’t my perfect candidate either, but looking at Obama, I’m not about to cast a vote for a teflon coated cypher who could and probably would, do anything once in office.
I’m proud of the people who are willing to put party name aside and do what they think is the right thing. That man shouldn’t be president.
Btw, the only poll that matters is the actual vote.
October 30, 2008 at 11:22 am
Hello PUMAs! I’ve heard you guys have the greatest amount of enthusiasm…I see it’s true.
I’ve come to this site several times hoping your positive nature would give me more hope.
Thank you!

Here’s another PUMA voting Republican for the first time in her life.
If voting Republican as a protest was good enough for Alice Paul and her suffragettes, it’s good enough for me. We have to clean up our party! The Clintons are doing what they’re doing because Hillary is going to need those votes in 2012.
October 30, 2008 at 11:46 am
My 27 year old son is a PUMA voting for Big Mac in Florida. I was one of those Reagan Dems back in 1980, also voting in FL for McCain/Palin!
October 30, 2008 at 12:19 pm
“Exit polls in 2004 were notoriously unrealible because of where they were conducted and by whom.”
Oh indeed, and there are about a thousand other problems with polls, and exit polls in particular. But these are noteworthy because exit polls have historically favored the Democrat. This would be especially true with early voting, since conservatives are more likely to vote on Election Day.
October 30, 2008 at 12:23 pm
I love this blog. And I have gained new respect for Hillary Clinton and her supporters.
I look forward to 2012, when Ms. Clinton can challenge Mr. McCain and we can have a campaign season in which folks have IDEAS that they can debate and stand behind, rather than a cult of personality.
October 30, 2008 at 12:31 pm
Here’s another PUMA (from Georgia). Yesterday I voted early for McCain/Palin. It’s the first Republican vote I’ve ever cast – I’ve voted in every possible Presidential election and I’m 60 years old. I wanted to vote for HRC and yesterday I pulled the Republican switch as payback. Unless we have a decent candidate in 2012 I plan to do it again.
October 30, 2008 at 12:32 pm
I got my sister, who votes based on nuclear energy, to agree not to vote, becuase they both favor nuclear energy.
I’m working on my kids. Two out of three, so far.
The best wayt to deal w/ a potential Obama voter is just to ask them “why are you for him?” If it is just religious fervor, you do your best. But if it is a concrete reason, then it is SO easy to counteract it. Because the man is not suitable presidential material. I really recommend just asking them, and then taking it from there.
I find I never discuss politics w/ black people any more. Another thing the ONE has done. Put a BIG layer of mistrust between blacks and whites.
October 30, 2008 at 12:34 pm
As a discouraged Eeyore, a day on this site has done more for my mood than even listening to Rush Limbaugh if you can believe that! It’s wonderful to see that Hillary supporters haven’t been duped into voting for the Obamessiah like the MSM have told us. I actually have hope for the future thanks to this website and a couple of others like it. Keep up the great work!
October 30, 2008 at 12:36 pm
To XO
Polls are never right, don’t put your faith in them…remember 2004? Kerry lost while allegedly up 6-8 points in polls. Of course you may be an Obama troll so that makes sense.
October 30, 2008 at 1:20 pm
Zogby is a partisan Democrat with a history of unreliable polls. Rasmussen has been overweighting Democrats. Neither of the two are believable. The best indicator of what’s going is is to watch where the candidates go.
Obama has already been to PA twice this week and is coming back again for a third time. That tells you that he’s in trouble in PA. He’s going back to Iowa, where he supposedly had everything all wrapped up. That tells you he’s in trouble in Iowa as well. If he’s in trouble in PA and Iowa, then Obama is in trouble pretty much everywhere, and whatever leads he’s had in the swing states are all gone.
Much of what’s going on now is due to the help of the PUMAs. Many have already thanked you but let me add my name to the list.
October 30, 2008 at 1:32 pm
A few days ago, there was an entry that the polls in PA were wrong because there were secret PUMAs/Hillary supporters in PA who were going to win the election for McCain despite the polling. Now you are saying the same thing about Florida. What’s the deal? I said it then and I’ll say it again: in order to fool all the polls that are being done in a given State (not to mention multiple States), these secret Hillary-turned-McCain supporters (who are supposedly lying to the pollsters in order to mount a surprise turnout on Election Day) must have THE most controlled, disciplined, regimented, strict, and systematic organization known to man or god. (Perhaps I overdid the adjectives in the last sentence.) It’s just not plausible. And you are posting other entries that say (essentially) the same thing about New Hampshire, Iowa and Maine. Really? All of this is happening under the pollsters’ radar? Really? If this is true, all of you PUMAs should be in charge of mopping up Iraq, abolishing hunger and poverty…heck, take crack at World peace while you’re at it.
Oh, and if I am a troll because I disagree with your premise on a particular post or posts, then okey-dokey, I’m a troll (but definitely not of the “concern” variety….).
October 30, 2008 at 1:42 pm
I hope what I’ve read from PUMAs posting across the Web is not just a few “trolls” making like a movement. The more I look at Obama, the more concerned I become.
Here’s why:
He makes having a pro-choice position seem extreme. I can’t accept the notion that if a baby is born alive as a result of a botched abortion, she should be left to die because allowing her to live would somehow impact Roe v. Wade. I think most of the country is pro-choice, but this is one area where we could give pro-lifers some ground.
He has gone hard after anyone who questions his policies. From his savage treatment of Hillary during the campaign to the systematic destruction of newscasters who question him to the recent “investigation” into Joe the Plumber using government computers, there is a lot to fear for our First Amendment rights. Someone on another blog asked if Obama had approval of a FISA Court before violating Joe the Plumber’s privacy to get grist for his campaign machine.
Finally, while I don’t believe in guilt by association, there is the question of Obama’s association with people who are extreme radicals and in particular two terrorists (Bill Ayers and Bernadine Dohrn) who joined him in praising a third terrorist, Rashid Kahlidi. He may not be a terrorist, but his association with and praise for them leads me to question whether he has the judgment Hillary showed over the past 35 years — some of which she was under immense attack from political opponents.
And that’s why I think a HillRaiser working for the L.A. Times is going to have a conscience about the video tape the paper is covering up for Obama. Allegedly, the reason they’re covering it up for Obama is that he is seen applauding some of the anti-Israel rhetoric of other speakers…. before offering his toast refering to Israel as “the Zionist Entity”. Why did the Times give up the story back in April? At that time, they were more or less on Hillary’s side.
“Times HillRaiser” — we need you to come out now and leak the video or a transcript. Let us see if your claims about Obama calling Israel the Zionist Entity are true.

I hope that when the election’s over and we have all succeeded in keeping Hussein out of the White House that you folks will, in fact, receive some kind of response/public acknowledgement from Hillary. That would actually encourage the REST of us that she and Bill “do get it” with regard to the nation’s welfare.
I really don’t think that either she or Bill have ANY idea what a stupendously strengthening tide would occur if either of them would speak up in specific words in support of the Constitution RIGHT NOW! It would be a flood that would finish Obama, and it would guarantee Hillary a really strong spot out of the gate in 2012. (As a conservative Repub, I still probably wouldn’t vote for her!….but I’m just trying to get a grip on why they don’t seem to be reading the political tea leaves here. They are both definitely political astute, whether a person agrees with them or not.
Well, the next 10 days will be interesting.
Long live the United States of America…and kudos again for the unique role you all are playing.
October 30, 2008 at 2:48 pm
I was just listening to Rush Limbaugh and he was talking about this website!…He said that while he never reads the “comments” page, he was curious to see what people on Hillbuzz were saying!
I’m a former DEM,now Independent voting for McCain/Palin.
October 30, 2008 at 2:54 pm
Way to go PUMAs! At my local McCain volunteer office, I have met PUMAs who are putting in lots of hours. The PUMA movement is more powerful than MSM and DNC realize.
October 30, 2008 at 3:49 pm
#50 Richard is SCARED!!!
He He…
Obama isn’t going to win. If he only had one issue against him, people would forget about it, but he has so many things. Even if someone doesn’t pay attention to Obama’s radical associations, they may pay attention to Joe the plumber. Obama has actually given us a smorgasborg of things to give us the proper impression of him.
You can see it in the trends. People don’t trust him and enough has happened to show that to us.
Don’t bother quoting polls, there bogus and many experts have stated so.
October 30, 2008 at 4:50 pm
I’m a PUMA, as are my husband and daughter. I’ve been polled myself twice,my husband once and my son once. We all said we were voting for Obama. A friend told me he was polled over his cell phone and they asked if he would vote for Obama and he said “sure,I’ll vote for Vladimir Putin,” they said excuse me and he repeated himself. They probably put that down as a yes. Four years ago, I volunteered for John kerry and proudly displayed my bumper sticker and yard sign. What a difference four years,ACORN, the MESSIAH and dirty politics makes! THROW BARNEY FRANK,NANCY PELOSI,HOWARD DEAN AND HARRY REID and you have a DNC milkshake that is hard to choke down. I voted for Reagan,Clinton,Gore and Kerry, but this one, or that one, however you define him-not a chance. I read that animals stay out of danger by following their instincts and humans stay IN danger because they’ve learned to tune their instincts out. Color me purple, but every instinct I possess is screaming that this guy is a bad,bad guy. I prefer to listen to them this time. As for the polls, my dad had a saying that was an old chinese proverb…The dogs bark, but the caravan passes on…seems appropriate here too.

Great post Ohio Sue (#78). I have been thinking the same thing. Until I stumbled upon this site a few days ago I haven’t heard anything about PUMAs since the conventions. Now I’m supposed to believe they are going to be the dominate force in the election! In reality there will be more disillusioned conservatives voting for Barr then PUMAs voting for McCain.
October 30, 2008 at 5:15 pm
Hello from a PUMA from MI whose family Democrats)voted for John Mccain and Sarah Palin.Although Obama took my vote for Hillary and my Hillary delegate vote I swore he would never get another. He has the ugliest bunch of corrupt friends I have ever seen out in the open and ignored by the msm.Where did all the REAL journalists go?They are scared to death of Obama.
October 30, 2008 at 5:16 pm
This is great news!!! The PUMA’s are the most organized part of this election. I Thank You from the bottom of my heart.
If you need my support in 2012, just ask, it’s yours. Anything to keep that socialist out of the White House.

Puma from MI —A Democrat that voted for Mccain/Palin.
October 30, 2008 at 5:24 pm
I was for Hillary and I have voted Democrats all my life ( since I became a US citizen) but this time I voted for McCain/Palin with a lot of conviction and happiness. I thought I would never be able to vote for a Republican candidate in my life, but after all that happened in the primaries with Hillary, and after seeing the farse that was the Democratic Convention, I decided that this year my vote was going to be for McCain. I still can’t believe that people might buy the show that Obama has prepared, I hope the people know better, and when they are inside that voting booth, their love for the country will prevail and they secretely vote for McCain, even if they tell pollsters that they voted for Obama, after all, who cares about polls? Call me whatever name you like, I do not care anymore. At least I have the courage to fight for this country that has given me so much! It’s the least I can do. I spent 4 1/2 hours to vote on a Sunday, but I do not regret any minute that I spent there until my moment came.
And yes, I am a proud PUMA member!!!
Go McCain/Palin
October 30, 2008 at 5:40 pm
Hello everyone- Rush turned me onto this site too. I’m so excited. I think Republican and Dem Women should unite for the good of all women. I never knew about the PUMA movement. I thought the election was already over. I’ve aready cast my vote for McCain/ Palin. I want this whole election to blow up in the Mainstream media’s face. (Maybe the we’ll see real CHANGE!!!)

I am so excited to find this website!! I am a Florida Dem voting McCain/Palin and know several in my county that are voting this way. I tell everyone that will listen to me that my vote is not for McCain but against Obama. I know everywhere I go in Central Fl all I see is McCain/Palin signs. My daughter 19, who is a college student in Gainesville says that there is support for Obama but just as much if not more for McCain. She voted absentee McCain/Palin.

Lifelong Republican–glad to be here. Never thought I would say this but after watching Hillary handle the primaries, I found myself respecting her guts, intelligence, and determination.
