Aside from Tom Mahoney, Rahm Emanuel, and Nancy Pelosi herself, there’s no Democrat we’re more disgusted with in the House right now than Murtha. We haven’t liked him since he slammed Marines — because United States Marines are probably the people we admire most in this world. More than any elected official. You don’t EVER badmouth Marines. Not on our watch. Not EVER.
And then Murth launched into his recent craziness calling Pennsylvanians racist rednecks, all while campaigning for Obama. That put Murtha permanently on “The List” as far as we’re concerned. Right up there with Howard Dean, Nancy Pelosi, Claire McCaskill, Bill Richardson, Patrick Murphy, Bob Casey, and all the other Democrats we can no longer stand and will never again support.
These people are now on the same page as Republicans like Rick Santorum, Trent Lott, Ted Stevens, Larry Craig, and the rest of the GOP’s rogue’s gallery.
From now on, we support decent men and women in the center, regardless of party: and will no longer support a corrupt Democrat over a Republican just because he or she is a Democrat. And we won’t ever again vote against a decent, qualified Republican just because he or she is a Republican — because strict party voting is something we’ll never again be a part of.
Not after this election. Not after the Murthas of the Democratic party showed who they truly are.
And to think, we have Obama to thank for all of this.

Let’s win with McCain/Palin, then move on to Democrats and Republicans that share our values. You folks can’t divide us anymore. Together we are more powerful then you can imagine. We can change this..Donkyphants…I know it sucks but, hey it’s a start.

Murtha. The ultimate reason WHY there should be term limits! Same for Pelosi & Reid. And DiFi and…..
October 23, 2008 at 3:08 pm
Nice, I’m looking forward to s-canning that bum once and for all. Murtha’s been a poster-boy for term limits for over 20 years.

Don’t be fooled. When all is said and done, the folks in Murtha’s district will vote their wallets. When Murtha secures an earmark, it isn’t the usual grant that builds something or honors some inane event. His earmarks are, almost, all geared towards the enhancement of active corporations and businesses all domiciled in the western PA corridor.
In short, without the grants promised to these companies they would have to do the leg work and secure contracts the old fashioned way (shoe leather to pavement). Instead, they get the ongoing gravy train of bulk sums to study some issue or another whether it is warranted or not.
His constituents are a goodly number of individuals employed in these propped up entities…and they want to stay that way. The hit on the economy recently solidifies his hold…which is why he felt safe in speaking his mind (such as it is).
Murtha, unfortunately, in his usual landslide.

this is what we need more of, moderate Americans coming together and voting out all of the trash on both sides of the isle. Maybe a 3rd party could be formed and all of the far left and right whackos can stand alone for once and be honest about their views.
Term limits needs to be done. Why are some of the idiots still in office? Why are Dodd, Frank, still in office?
October 23, 2008 at 4:22 pm
I agree, centrists on both sides!
If all they are going to do is vote party line, which you can see on C-SPAN, then there is no point in them going in to work at all. NO matter what the issue, we can tally the votes without them even participating. They can stay home.
This has to end.
If it means they have to forego party activities and affiliations once elected, so be it. No more democrat/republican strategy sessions, no more blocking budget negotiations because you don’t want the other side to win.
I also favor a new rule that keeps the outgoing Presidents and Governors on for two years as advisors. This would ensure continuity of knowledge, and MAY help stem the partisan hatred/divide. They would be working together for COUNTRY, not PARTY.
Again, you guysa are blowing me away. I hope something good can be built out of this. We have more in common than not.

How about the PUMA Party?
October 23, 2008 at 4:59 pm
Murtha endorsed and campaigned for Hillary if I remember correctly. And I do.
October 23, 2008 at 8:34 pm
I thought Murtha said those things to encourage people to vote for McCain.

you definately speak for me in this article.
the only good thing that has come out of this election is that Obama has opened my eyes to how liberals really operate and has exposed their true agenda, which is way out of touch with mainstream values. I now realize that it is foolish to be affiliated with either party. I am no longer a partisan democrat but rather a middle of the road independent. So thank you BHO for opening my eyes to reality.
