Nancy Pelosi: Ignorant about natural gas
Nancy Pelosi’s mouth emits a lot of natural gas, but she has no idea about how the other kind is produced.
Conn Carroll at Heritage teaches her a lesson:
The day before the Democratic National Convention Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) went on Meet the Press and told Tom Brokaw:
I’m, I’m, I’m investing in something I believe in. I believe in natural gas as a clean, cheap alternative to fossil fuels. … These investments in wind, in solar and biofuels and focus on natural gas, these are the real alternatives.
As we pointed out at the time, natural gas is not an alternative to fossil fuels … it is a fossil fuel. And as the “Energy Kids Page” of the Energy Information Administration (EIA) explains, it is a fossil fuel that needs to be drilled for.
One would hope that Pelosi had studied up on the issue since then, but her comments after the House passed a bill codifying the ban on most of the Outer Continental Shelf shows she still does not. Pelosi told The Washington Post: “We’re not trying to give incentives to drill, we’re giving incentives to invest in renewables and natural gas that will take us where we need to go.”
Again, where does Pelosi think natural gas comes from? If the government is “giving incentives” to natural gas, it is giving incentives to drill. That is how we get natural gas.
Drill, baby, drill that into your head before you embarrass yourself again.

Again, where does Pelosi think natural gas comes from?
Her portfolio, maybe?
Per the WSJ Washington Wire, August 24, 2008:
That’s why the average American family connects so well with Nancy — we who may be fortunate enough to have $100,000 to invest — why it’s only a tiny fraction of our assets! (After taxes, but not with the healthcare plan, perks and retirement that members of Congress get, of course.) And we all have cars that run on natural gas! A true woman of the people!

I remember that somewhere in all the discussion about Palin that Bill Clinton did not have a lot of foreign policy experience other than promoting his state’s product abroad. In conjunction with that I assume that the governors of the states that have common boarders with Mexico and Canada interface with those nations on behalf of the state’s economy.
In light of the above I have a suggestion for Sara Palin based on the following:
Russian President Dmitry Medvedev said during a meeting today with non-governmental organizations that the United States, instead of “trying to be clever,” must begin discussions with Russia on how to overcome the consequences of the crisis on the US stock market. He said that the problems caused by the U.S. depression had spread to all market economies. The crisis would not have had such serious repercussions, if an agreement had been reached during the G-8 summit in Japan.
Yesterday, Medvedev had said at a reception for new ambassadors to Russia, that Russia and the US can maintain a constructive dialogue despite their differences over some international issues: “Despite a number of significant disagreements on certain international issues, we are convinced that we have what it takes to forge a constructive dialogue on a long-term basis,” Medvedev said. He called ties with the US, one of Russia’s foreign policy priorities; Novosti reported.
“The history of Russian-U.S. relations has seen plenty of imbroglios, but invariably common sense and pragmatism have prevailed.” There are good foundations for relations, based on political dialogue, trade and economic relations, and investment activity. “It would be politically short-sighted to fritter away these achievements and get back to the old stereotypes,” he said.
Well, Sara Palin, as Governor of Alaska, that sounds like an invitation to me.
And it doesn’t appear you would be breaking any laws.
What an opportunity to demonstrate diplomacy over confrontation.
What an opportunity to conduct a trip with real positive implications as opposed to the hot air rock concert in Germany.
What an opportunity to plant the seeds for a joint action on the current crises, co-sponsored by Russia, as a member of the Russia-China-India, Eurasian party and the U.S.A. as the representative of the international Dollar system on which the present world system depends.
And my favorite, what an opportunity to expose, in both parties, those that wear Union Jack panties and are the real obstacles to a sane resolution to this problem.

There is no more powerful symbol of the do-nothing Congress than Nancy Pelosi. There is only one person than Republicans and Pumas may despise more than Barry, and that’s Nancy Pelosi. At the peak of this financial meltdown, Nancy’s best offering was “not our fault, we’re going on vacation.” Independents are thinking, “do we really want one party navigating the economic mess in the coming years, with useless Pelosi and inexperienced Barry at the helm.” Many may be silently mulling the wisdom of balancing the feckless Dem leadership with a POTUS from the other side.
The economy is without doubt going to be the number one issue through Nov. If the voters are simply angry, then it’s throw the incumbents out and in with the new, Obama. But if they are fearful, the idea of jumping in the fox hole with only Nancy and Barry may be too scary. They’d want a steadier ship that wouldn’t keel over from overweighted ideology. My bet is voters in November will be fearful.
Against that reality, McCain in my view should be going after Nancy Pelosi at least as hard as he is going after Barry. Make people believe there needs to be a counterpoint to Nancy, and that Barry runs with the same gang. McCain should be going after Nancy Pelosi by name. There’s nothing to lose, and everything to gain.

Nancy Pelosi is a spineless..brainless nothing. I had very high hopes when she was put in as speaker..and the democrats had the strength in congress…what did they do? I am very aware of things ..I can’t come up with a thing. I don’t think they had one good idea. Too bad that they can’t all be put out and a fresh group brought in. It certainly didn’t take long for Claire McCaskill to fall in line…crawl up obama’s ass and be extremely politically for all the wrong reason’s.
