Something’s up.
In the last few days, around a half dozen SoetorObama supporters have played the race card on his behalf, for no good reason.
Just out of the blue, they’ve claimed SoetorObama’s not doing better in the polls because Americans are racists…that people aren’t supporting him because they are racist…that it is racist to question anything he says or does. You racists.
Why are they doing this? It doesn’t make any sense, because accusing Americans of being racist doesn’t seem a good strategy for getting them to vote for SoetorObama.
But, maybe this is a preemptive move to lessen the impact of something else the campaign knows is coming, in a week or so.
Could be real fallout from SoetorObama’s July demand in Iraq that American troops not withdraw until after the election — now that the Iraqi Foreign Minister has confirmed that’s what SoetorObama did on his visit, as part of his Rainbow Tour. So far, only the NY Post has been covering this, but maybe other journalists will wake up now.
Or, the Race Card playing could be something else…something that magicians do to distract the audience when they don’t want people to see what’s really happening.
What’s coming that SoetorObama doesn’t want you to pay attention to?
And why is introducing race, yet again, the way SoetorObama hopes to combat whatever’s coming down the pipe?
Are they priming the racial accusation pump for something?
It all seems part of a deliberate strategy to accuse as many people as possible of racism, just so SoetorObama can dodge something heading his way.
Any thoughts as to what it could be?

I dunno….maybe the infamous ” whitey ” tape is about to be released ?….chuckle….

I have no idea what it is. I do know that every time Senator Obama makes a mistake or gets caught lying, he immediately tries something like this. If his only answer is to divide and rule every time he slips up, I don’t think he should be sitting in the oval office. In the end, I think he’s going to make a ton of mistakes, and it won’t go well for the country. I guess that if the only tool in your tool box is a hammer, every problem will start to look like a nail.

Could be the tape, or the passport business. Maybe he’s trying to get back on offense, which makes sense for the economy, but not for race. It may have worked among Dems in Iowa, but not in the general with working class and rural voters in the Midwest. Not after having called them bitter, clinging, and that antipathy thing. It’s just plain dumb. Also been noticing Barry is incapable of getting passionate when he’s addressing issues or people in the center or right. Could be race and revolution is the only way he knows how to run. Not so far from Rev Wright after all.

You may be correct. I don’t know. I thought it was just Obama having surrogates play the card for him since he was called on this a while back by McCain.

Whitey tape

I think that it is an attempt to use the flip side to the sexist treatment of Palin (which created a backlash for McCain/Palin) in order to get backlash for Obama. Since the race card worked so well against Bill Clinton (even though Obama people raised race on CNN as an issue on the night that Obama lost in NH) I am sure that they think it will work again. This is a very normal strategy in dirty politics (i.e., put your opponent on the defensive by accusing them of something that is not true, like when did you stop beating your wife?).

Something to consider here is that the Berg lawsuit has not been tossed (yet) and that may be part of what is getting ready to fall on Obama. Notice too that Obama has been making mistakes both on the campaign trail and in his one on one interviews which the most recent one that I recall was his “My Muslim faith” statement.
With all this going on, I get the impression that he is doing this (in slow cadence) to condition the people so as to soften the impact.

if the whitey tape makes it to the light of day, that is the day i will mail a contribution to mccain.

I too think its the “Whitey Tape”. Bring it on and lets get rid of this guy once and for all.
He is a joke and I for one could not stand to hear that awful voice and those stupid laugh lines of his, like “she’s acting like she’s Annie Oakley” squeak, squeak, imitation laugh, of course he was referring to Hillary but he does that too when he gets nervous about McCain, you know “Lipstick on a Pig”
Someone put Michelle on a Best Dressed list,
like Best Dressed for what, that big ole floral dress she wore at the Democratic Convention made her butt look huge, well it is huge but huger.
Who knows what those Obama scumbags are trying to pull by the racist crap, the truth is they are black so what’s the big deal about that? Black or white, whatever they are scumbags for what they are doing to Sarah Palin, hacking into her personal email, They should be put in jail, along with David Gergen, Donna Brazile, and the other maggots.
Kudos to Lady Lynn and Donald Trump for endorsing McCain yesterday.

If you are sensing this then you are probably right. At this point many of us are experts and can sense shifts in talking points and media concentration or recognize patterns, etc. Thanks for the heads up.

Yes, maybe soon we’ll find out “what’s up with Whitey”, and what the “legacy the White Man gives us”.

Losing in November – blame it on racism and not on the candidate or the campaign…or the Democratic Party
September 18, 2008 at 12:10 pm
I don’t think it anything “sinister.” I think the republicans are going to hammer away the money Obama received from Fred and Fannie Mae while his short time in the Senate.
or hopefully…maybe they’ll finally expose his voting record while in the Illinois Senate…you know like the sole vote to allow early release time to sexual offenders…Voting that juvinelles never get charged as adults…or not allowing schools to filter out adult content sites in schools…
Or maybe they have a video of him snorting some lines or smoking a blunt in the last couple months…God knows with all his gaffes and stupid statements he makes he sounds high half the time when campaigning
The fact is, do we really need to find anything sinsiter…there’s enough stuff out there already that the republicans needs to start airing ad after ad.

yeah, i was watching some “reporter” last night having the audacity to say last night that if obama loses it is because of race. i mean come on, for me it is about experience, so i am sick and tired of these folks saying it is because of race, when in my case and a lot of people’s case it is because he is not qualified because he just does not have enough leadership experience. i mean i thought gw wasn’t experienced enough, but at least he was a governor and owned a baseball team so he did have some leadership and compared to obama that is way more experience. so i am sick of these guys saying basically the only reason is because of deep seated racism and refuse to look at any other logical reason why during any other presidential race when race or gender have not been the official candidates for the party, the real reasons are recognized. i am convinced at this point that these reporters who say it is only about race, are actually racists themselves because that is all they see and can’t see that this guy is just not experienced enough for a lot of voters. these reporters are the ones who are blinded by color since they can’t see any other reason why people would not vote for him… they need to stop thinking and putting on us that we are racists when in reality the real problem is probably within themselves that they actually the racist ones.
September 18, 2008 at 12:46 pm
I don’t think it’s a strategy, it’s just a common rationalization why Obama is not doing better in the polls. Being an Obamacan means you can never acknowledge people disagree with him on the issues or character.
