Well, it’s less than one week until Sunday’s Chicago Gay Pride Parade, which starts at the corner of Halsted and Belmont, works its way up Halsted before rounding over to Broadway, and then takes Broadway all the way to fabulous. Merchants and residents along the parade route already have their flags and decorations up, and you can feel the excitement building for the parade.
The only thing that’s missing is a commitment from Barack Obama to support the LGBT community and march in his home town Gay Pride Parade. The weather this Sunday will be great, so it will be a perfect day for Obama to come out, and support his LGBT friends and constituents by marching in the parade — it would be his first time, ever, marching in a Gay Pride Parade, in Chicago or anywhere else (that we know of).
Because, really, who DOESN’T love a parade? It’s all about hope, and cheering, and rainbows, and hope, and marching, and large crowds, and did we mention hope?
Right up Obama’s alley!
