[Click above to embiggen: the lone Hillary Clinton sign I’ve been able to spot anywhere in Chicago.]
One of the strangest things about this election is the dearth of yard signs or visible support of Hillary in Chicago. This summer, I actually saw more people walking around with “Hillary for Prison” tees than anyone wearing Hillary-supportive gear. People still have their Bernie Sanders signs in their windows…and I see a few Gary Johnson signs here and there. But very little visible support for Hillary.
Part of it, I think, is that a lot of the visible Obama support was values-signaling, where the people plastering their homes or cars with Obama signage wanted to tell the world they were voting for a black man…because that proved they were good people. They were the smarties and YOU were the dummies for not drinking his Kool-Aid. And they wanted you to know that their house was a house full of smarties, where inside everyone was singing the creepy “Obama’s Going to Change It, He’ll Rearrange It” song to their cult-leader.
I don’t think anyone feels that supporting Hillary makes them a good person…and that’s her incompetent campaign’s fault. They didn’t do anything to make people feel that voting for a woman to be president is a big deal or something to be proud of. I think her campaign had a duty to TEACH people that this is something to be proud of because that would be a key to her winning. This is what campaigns are supposed to do: to give people a reason to vote FOR someone. If I had run her campaign, the slogan would have been: It’s Time For A Woman To Be President…which could be shortened to “It’s Time.”
I think that would have worked well for her. Personally, I feel in my gut that Hillary’s going to lose on November 8th and everyone will have a meltdown because no one on her campaign thinks there’s any chance she can lose. No one in the Media believes she can lose. And she is just this giant dirigible that they think is coming in for this safe landing and they have the champagne on ice and all their gowns picked out for the big party…and I just think it’s going to be KABOOM! and the Hilldenburg is going to crash and burn.
It all makes me sad for this brief moment, but then it becomes obvious to me that her campaign’s own hubris and stupidity is behind all this…and that probably works out to be a huge blessing for America. Hillary sold her soul to the Devil in the form of George Soros and his globalists and I think the American people realize that voting for her means erasing our borders and surrendering our sovereignty. Democrats want to completely replace the American population with colonists from the Third World because Democrats could never convince Americans that the Left’s way of thinking is better. So, Democrats ingeniously decided to just eradicate Americanism by flooding the country with millions of people who hate America and have no concept of liberty and democracy. These people come from the worst hellholes in the world and are used to powerful, totalitarian governments. Democrats want to make America into a hellhole and rule over “the New Americans” as totalitarians. Hillary has signed onto all of this like she is Eva Peron.
And that is unfortunate for anyone who hoped she’d be the leader we need. The man of the moment turned out to be, of all people, Donald Trump instead…and the forces of globalism lined up against him. Perhaps they will succeed in rigging the election to keep Trump out of office. I just don’t see how they are going to do that, though.
This election feels a lot to me like 2000 or 2004, where no one I knew was even remotely excited to go out and cast a vote for Gore or Kerry. I think maybe 2004 is a better parallel, because I walked door-to-door for Kerry all through Pennsylvania during that campaign and I never did find a single person who was excited to vote for that man. You think I am kidding or exaggerating, but I don’t remember a single person who said they liked Kerry or they were happy he was the nominee. More than one person said they thought he looked like Herman Munster or Lurch from The Addams Family. I lost count of all the people who said they thought he looked like he would probably “smell like farts.” They actually described him that way. To date, he’s the only person who I ever hear being describe that way. Kerry just has this drab, gloomy, flatulent vibe to him for some reason that also makes people associate him with monsters or kooks from old tee-vee shows.
But, there were plenty of Kerry signs out and about in 2004. Even people who weren’t enthused about him would take a yard sign if we offered them one. There were Kerry signs in plenty of business windows. No one seemed ashamed to be voting for Kerry. I never saw any anti-Kerry gear being sold in any stores in big cities like Pittsburgh or Philadelphia.
I get the feeling that a lot of Democrats are even disgusted with Hillary’s conduct, her lies, and her general behavior. They seem to be ashamed to say if they are supporting her. There’s no enthusiasm or excitement for her.
I think that might be why Robby Mook, her campaign manager, made the decision to just aggressively dump on Trump and disparage him nonstop. They want to rev up hatred against Trump instead of creating any positive energy for Hillary. But, in 2000 and 2004, that’s what Democrats did with Bush: those campaigns were all about getting people revved up to hate Bush…and both Gore and Kerry lost. No one ever gave people a reason to love Gore or to even like Kerry: it was just about hating Bush as the Emanuel Goldstein of our lifetime. That didn’t work though.
The Obama elections were about telling people to fall in love with Obama as cult figure who came from outer space to make all their dreams come true, while simultaneously giving white people a reason to feel good about themselves by turning the country over to a black man. And even with all of that going for them, Obama didn’t win in landslides and could have lost if only McCain and/or Romney had even really tried to win. But they just gave up, because Republicans always give up in the home stretch. I don’t know why, but it’s just what they do.
Here we are in 2016 and Republicans all want to give up again and hand Hillary the White House…but she never made any sort of argument to the American people why they should want her to move back in there. The Media just decided the election is over so no one should even bother caring anymore. She’s already won. Get used to that. The Establishment really wants people to believe that.
Maybe that’s why she has no signs of support anywhere. Did people just feel “Why bother?” since the Media keeps saying there is no way she can lose? Is it a combination of that and the fact that people really don’t like her and her campaign never taught people to be excited about voting for her?
The “let’s all hate Trump” stuff doesn’t work like it did with Bush either because everyone knew who Trump was before the election and most people liked him. I’ve always thought he was gaudy and kind of ridiculous…but when I would listen to him speak and watch his shows, I always wanted to work for him. The guy is smart and is a great businessman. I liked him as a decision-maker on his show and always felt he made the right decisions with whoever he fired. My favorite thing about him is that he always seemed to be able to come into the middle of some mess and clean it up. He took charge, yelled at people, and they would say “Yes, Mr. Trump” and scurry away to fix whatever they screwed up.
Does anyone believe that Hillary can fix anything? Did her campaign ever give people a reason to believe that she’s competent and capable enough to fix the mess we’re in? I don’t think so, because Democrats refuse to admit we’re in a mess and they want the country to keep frog-boiling along towards ruin.
There are guys in the gay enclave of Boystown walking around wearing THIS SHIRT right now:
It’s from a shop called Threadless here in Chicago that also sells anti-Trump shirts. I’ve never seen any of those, though. But I’ve seen three or four guys wearing the “Hillaryous” Joker-face shirt. I’ve never seen anyone wearing anything pro-Hillary. Back in 2008 and 2012, they were even wearing Obama underpants. But most of these guys were really into Bernie and they hate Hillary. Many will openly admit that. Perhaps they hated her all along and the Bernie stuff is just an excuse for them to hate her in the open. These were all the same guys, by the way, who in 2008 supported Obama but said it was nothing against Hillary. They just wanted to have a black president, they claimed, because that would be cool. They said they would support Hillary next time around…but when they had the chance they went for an 80-year-old socialist. They really see Hillary as this monstrous joker and they probably always have. She is not beloved by gays the way her campaign might want to believe.
And Trump is not hated the way that Bush was. If Democrats depend on hatred to motivate their voters when their own candidate is not beloved…then how the hell does Hillary win?
I’m really glad that I had nothing to do with the 2016 campaign because I would be sick to my stomach right now trying to figure out a way for her to win when no one likes her or seemingly will ever like her. We never could get people to like her during the 2008 campaign and that broke my heart because if she had secured that nomination a lot of the crazy things that have happened in the last 8 years would have never happened. But that ship long ago sailed. I think Hillary’s political epitaph will ultimately be “What the hell did she waste those 8 years for?”…because she not only never did anything good to make people like her, but she went and did all sorts of new terrible things to turn even more people off and make even people who worked on her 2008 campaign mad at her.
I’m mad at her and I pretty much ruined my whole life by sinking everything I had into making her president in 2008. You’d think I would have been all about her 2016 second chance…but I just can’t stomach her weird lies and all the corruption. She really went too far and is clearly not sorry about any of it.
I have to close here by saying, again, that no one in Democrat ranks thinks there is any chance she will lose though. I am not kidding when I say that they are picking out their gowns and planning to go to DC for the Inauguration. They are doing all of that. They didn’t even do that for Obama…and they were really worried that Romney would win. But they’ve all convinced themselves there is no chance Hillary loses…and I just think it is going to be this big freakout, meltdown for all of them when the results come in. It’s going to be really surreal.
